East Missouri Action Agency, Inc. (EMAA) has been presented with a $15,000 donation amount from Ameren Missouri to assist those who are struggling to pay energy bills this winter. EMAA’s service area suffers from higher than average poverty rates, and despite the economic recovery, many families continue to experience tough times. Ameren and EMAA are working together to make this winter easier for those in need.

Grant amounts will be determined by EMAA and provided to applicants such as:

Families who cannot qualify or apply for assistance such as LIHEAP or Dollar More

  • Customers with good payment history, but are facing unexpected financial burden
  • Elderly and/or disabled customers
  • Customers in crisis
  • Customers who are facing medical challenges, or have had death in the family
  • Customers needing help with past due balances

These are a few possible options of those who may qualify for this benefit. If a circumstance is not listed here that does not mean there is no possibility of a benefit. EMAA is willing to attempt to assist anyone who comes through their doors.

EMAA is grateful to Ameren Missouri for this partnership and the increased ability to serve more families this winter. EMAA provides assistance to thousands of persons a year in Southeast Missouri and through this tremendous partnership, Ameren Missouri will give the means to help many, many more. With partners such as Ameren Missouri, East Missouri Action Agency can succeed in their efforts to help people help themselves and each other.
